This program is designed for middle and high school students who are ready learn app development and computer science concepts.
Do students need previous coding experience?
No prior coding experience is required. However, students who have completed SWVA Can Create will already be familiar with app design, project workflow and idea development which helps them succeed faster.
What tools do students use in SWVA Can Code?
Students use app development tools for building real apps like Swift Playground with design and presentation tools like Keynote for planning and pitching ideas.
What do students build in this program?
Students work on real app projects, team or individual projects and app ideas connected to real-world problems.
Does SWVA Can Code include entrepreneurship?
Yes. Students learn how to identify problems, how to design solutions, how to present and explain their ideas.
Is the program in-person or online?
It is an in-person program.
